Zoya Elke

July 9, 2011

This is probably my favorite pink. It’s such a beautiful color- hot pink with gold shimmer. Anything with shimmer is wonderful :)

I have a bunch of swatches of this one because they’re so gorgeous.

Zoya Nidhi

July 9, 2011

good morning from central time! I’m up in the weird little corner of the UP this weekend where it’s an hour behind. I can also border hop from here: Wisconsin, Michigan, Wisconsin, Michigan…

Zoya Norra

July 9, 2011

now, Scrangie has a good swatch of Norra (which may be Nora but my bottle says Norra), but it shows a lot more sparkle than is actually visible. I tried to be as color-true here as I could:

you can see the sparkle in the bottle here

Sunday Swatches II + Zoya Hope

June 26, 2011

Happy Sunday! I learned a lesson in counting this week so I’ll be posting a set of swatches of the first polish at the end of this post.

This week we have:

Zoya Hope is a medium true purple shimmer. No hint of blue or red here. It’s kind of like a lighter version of Zoya Yasmeen.

Orly Galaxy Girl is practically indescribable. It’s got a purple base with a teal/blue shimmer and the whole thing has a very interesting brown/green duochrome. You really have to look at lots of swatches of this one.

OPI Chapel of Love is a light bubble gum pink with a slight shimmer that’s kind of a mix of gold and silver. The shimmer isn’t as obvious as your average one but it’s still visible.

OPI Berry Good Dancers is one of my favorite pinks. It’s a slightly lighter than medium pink with a silver/gold foil shimmer.

China Glaze Emerald Fitzgerald is a deep, slightly blue green with a silver shimmer. It’s similar to Dive Bar but it’s much greener.

China Glaze Custom Kicks is a bright turquoise with a subtle gold shimmer. Like Chapel of Love, the shimmer is visible but not obvious.

China Glaze Heli-Yum is a bright deep (not dark) pink creme. Seriously, it’s really bright and awesome- sort of a raspberry color. It’s also almost an exact match to OPI’s Dutch Tulips, but it’s slightly pinker.

And here we have our Zoya Hope swatches:

Have a Sunday Funday!

Monday/Tuesday: Dive Bar & Freja

June 21, 2011

My apologies for not posting yesterday! As you’ll learn, I’m somewhat forgetful :). Anyway, here are the photos:

Here’s a link to some more great swatches of Dive Bar:

And now for Freja:

Here’s a link to Scrangie’s swatches of the Zoya collection that Freja is in:

And All Lacquered Up’s swatches:

HaveĀ  a lovely Tuesday everyone! And let me know if you’d like any comparisons. When I’m done with the whole collection, I’ll test Freja against China Glaze Black Diamond and I’ll test Dive Bar against Sephora by OPI Teal We Meet Again and China Glaze Rodeo Fanatic.

Also, let me assure you that the photos do get better as the collection goes on. These are the very first ones I took so they’re not the best. Anyone with any photo tips is free to give them to me!

Sunday Swatches I

June 19, 2011

Happy Sunday everyone! From now on, I’ll be doing a set of swatches a week (posting a preview on Sunday and posting a new one every day) until I complete my collection, which is about 130 bottles (and I’m always adding more.) This week’s polishes:

Essie’s Dive Bar is a bluish green that’s almost black toned, but not quite. It seems to be exclusive to Essie’s mass retail carriers, like Meijer and Target. If you like deep teal shades, Dive Bar is worth the hunt.

Zoya Freja is a mid toned smokey grey. There’s not a hint of blue or black in this shade. It’s like a lighter version of China Glaze’s Black Diamond.

Sephora by OPI Set the Mood is a slightly dark pink. It’s shimmery but it has kind of a cloudy feel to it- it’s interesting. Available exclusively through Sephora.

China Glaze Strawberry Fields is a very happy medium pink with gold flecks (I believe it’s called glass flecked). It’s like bubblegum with glitter, but it’s still appropriate for grown women :).

China Glaze Riveter Rouge is a rusty red with large gold glitter flecks. It’s like a lighter, sparklier version of Foxy, from the same China Glaze collection.

China Glaze Hey Sailor! is a slightly orangey red creme. It’s a great, very classic color. It reminds me of Revlon’s Fire & Ice campaign from the ’50’s.

OPI Kinky in Helsinki is a medium pink. It’s really a fuschisa, with its slight purple tone. It’s a bit like a darker version of Set the Mood.
